Prof. Stephen Beatty, M.D.

Stephen Beatty graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 1990, and trained as an opthalmic surgeon Dublin, Manchester, Birmingham, London and Geneva.

He has been a Consultant Opthalmic Surgeon with a special interest in retinal disease since 2001.

Stephen Beatty has a strong track record in research, with over 100 peer-reviewed publications, and his reasearch interests include cataract and age-related macular degeneration.

He was appointed Professor at Waterford Institute of Technology in 2010 and Adjunct Professor at Trinity college Dublin in 2011.
