Prof. David P. Richardson

David Richardson runs a specialist consultancy in nutrition and food science, DPR Nutrition Ltd.  He holds a visiting professorship at the University of Reading.  He began his teaching and research career at the University of London and at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  He then worked for NestlĂ© UK Ltd, ultimately becoming Group Chief Scientist. From 1999 to 2003, Professor Richardson was an observer on the UK Expert Group on Vitamins and Minerals (EVM), which advised on maximum levels of intakes of vitamins and minerals from food supplements.  Professor Richardson was also a member of the ILSI Europe/European Commission project to investigate the risk-benefit analysis of foods (BRAFO), which ran from 2007 to 2010.  In 2005, Professor Richardson was appointed a Fellow of the Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry.  He is also a member of Council of the Nutrition and Health Forum of the Royal Society of Medicine.  He sits on several industrial and university scientific advisory boards and is scientific advisor to a number of European and international organisations in the area of foods and food supplements.
