Dr. D. Craig Willcox is Professor of Public Health and Gerontology at Okinawa International University and Visiting Professor in Geriatric Medicine at University of Hawaii. His extensive research and publications are mainly in the fields of nutrition, health and aging. He is Co-Principal Investigator of the Okinawa Centenarian Study and a co-investigator with the Hawaii Lifespan Study, the first studies to identify key genes in nutrient sensing pathways (such as FOXO3) important for healthy aging and longevity in humans. Dr. Willcox is active in several academic societies and organizations that focus upon identifying priorities in aging research. He also contributes as Associate Editor to Journals of Gerontology: Biological and Medical Sciences, BMC Geriatrics, Rejuvenation Research, Gerontology, npj Mechanisms of Aging and Disease and the newly formed Nutrition and Healthy Aging and has written several best-selling books for the general public that focus upon the importance of nutrition and lifestyle factors for healthy aging.
