AND CRITERIA FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF NRVs FOR LABELLING PURPOSES FOR NUTRIENTS ASSOCIATED WITH RISK OF DIET-RELATED NONCOMMUNICABLE DISEASES

MAY 2010 CONSULTATION DOCUMENT

12 July 2010—In the recent meeting in Geneva, the Commission approved this topic as “new work” for the Codex Committee on Nutrition and Foods for Special Dietary Uses (CCNFSDU). Thus, the document prepared by the electronic working group (eWG) will presented to a physical WG meeting the day before the next CCNFSDU meeting in Chile in early November. The document by the physical WG is likely to be adopted by the CCNFSDU at Step 3. The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) generally supports the effort but believes a major technical problem has not been solved.
